Objectives of the Council
The Council governs, controls, manages and regulates the affairs of the hospital. The Council appoints the Chief Executive Officer whose conditions of employment, jurisdiction and obligations are determined by the Council. It also appoints an auditor to the hospital and approves appointments of Consultant medical staff.The Council meets every month and decisions are taken through majority voting. The Council may delegate powers as appropriate to one or more sub-committees. An annual general meeting is held in March each year. Council members do not receive any remuneration in respect of their services. They are, however, reimbursed for any expenses incurred as a result of council activities.
Main objectives of the Hospital are:
- To provide a quality service to those in need of medical, surgical and nursing care for the eyes, ears, nose and throat
- To adopt a holistic and caring approach to the delivery of care
- To collaborate with partners in caring for the patients
- To promote and support education and research
